Hard-fought Hallelujah

 🎶—--“Yeah, I don’t always feel it.

But that’s when I need it the most.

So I’ll keep on singing… until my soul catches up with my song.”-------🎶

This weekend we sang Brandon Lake’s Hard-Fought Hallelujah—and wow, can anyone else relate to these lyrics? There is so much truth and power in them.

We wrapped up our Like, Subscribe, and Share testimony series at church, and our senior pastor shared his own story as the message—walking us through five seasons of his life. This song was the perfect backdrop, and it spoke right into that moment.

I can barely describe what the Holy Spirit did. As a choir, we’re used to leading worship with joy, smiling, and praising. But this one was different. It challenged us. We had to dig deep—into the places of pain, loss, and hard-fought battles—and let that fuel our worship. No smiles, just raw surrender. We showed our congregation that it’s okay to bring those feelings to God, and even when we don’t feel like praising, we can still fight for our hallelujah cause God is there and He is worthy!

And y’all—the Spirit moved. 🙌 It wasn’t about applause or ovations. It was about seeing faces soften, tears fall, years of pain meet God’s presence. It was about the yes, I’ve been there too… and the yes, God is still good and worth it. I’ll never forget the two men who stood up with arms stretched high, singing their hallelujah with us. That simple act sparked the entire room to rise up and do the same. Holy Spirit fire! 🔥

I am so humbled and blessed to be part of what God is doing. The heart, prayer, and surrender behind these services is incredible. This isn’t just music or a performance —it’s a vehicle the Spirit uses for eternity and life change.

So let’s keep bringing our hard-fought, heartfelt, it-is-well hallelujahs. 💜
