π£ This is a longer post, but if you’re a parent, a worshipper, or someone praying for the next generation — please read. What I experienced marked me deeply. Maybe it will stir something in you, too. ππ
Something really, really beautiful happened Wednesday night.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment I’ll treasure forever—in both my memory bank and my heart.π
Some of you may know I’m part of the worship choir team at our church. What you may not know is that this team is made up of faithful, intentional, Spirit-filled leaders who lead from a place of deep gratitude for all God has done in their lives. They pour out from the overflow of their personal walk with Him—coming to the platform with hearts postured toward God every single time.
As James promises, when we draw near to the Lord, He draws near to us—and that was so evident Wednesday night.
This team has cultivated a beautiful space where others—our youngest ones included—can truly encounter His presence.
We just wrapped up Momentum, our student 3-day conference in July, where over 600 students encountered Jesus—many for the first time. God is powerfully moving in this next generation in this place! π₯π
And for the first time ever, our church decided that the Wednesday night Encounter service following Momentum would include the full Momentum worship set—geared specifically toward youth. Different songs, fresh energy… and it brought so many families back to church. Because if you mention Momentum, the kids are begging to go—and pulling their parents with them! π♂️πΆπ¨π©π§
I knew it would be powerful and unique.
But what I didn’t expect… was the mob of students out of their seats, worshiping up front right at the platform. Especially my two kids and their bestie. They usually hang back and observe, but last night? They were all in.
Leading worship while watching these kids pour their hearts out to God was powerful. But to see my own kids give their all at the altar made it deeply personal.
It was emotional, beautiful, and sacred. ✨
Worshiping face to face with them—not just side by side—was incredibly special. There’s not much sweeter than being at the feet of Jesus with pieces of your heart right there too—and seeing Him reflected back in their faces. ❤️π₯ "there's no waste at the altar" π΅
Thank you, Action Church—and to all of you who walk in obedience to the Lord and make space for students to do the same.
That night, they didn’t just worship…they led me—with hope and fresh passion. π₯π
You and your children are always invited to come and see what God is doing in this place. Once you step in, He will meet you there. I know from experience.
